MapTiler’s team joined the FOSS4G Europe 2025 conference in beautiful Mostar this July, bringing together a diverse crew of programmers, data specialists, and cartographers, including two locals! As Silver sponsors, we had a stand that welcomed many conversations, often with users excited to share how our maps are making a difference.

But beyond the stand, this trip was about listening, learning, and strengthening relationships across the open-source geospatial community.

“A welcoming intro to geospatial tech”

From first-time attendees to seasoned FOSS4G veterans, the team came away inspired. For newcomers, it was a welcoming intro to the latest in geospatial tech, including the growing role of LLMs, and a chance to proudly represent MapTiler. For others, it was a valuable sync with industry peers, an opportunity to reconnect with friends, and a chance to enjoy fantastic local food, architecture, and a memorable live music night.

Engaging with the open-source community

FOSS4G Europe was great for the team; we came back with new knowledge, fresh perspectives, and stronger connections with both colleagues and the wider community. We are looking forward to joining again next year!
