Since Connect 2025, the team has been refining GeoSplats to make photorealistic 3D models more accessible and efficient. We are sharing our progress on the new Level of Detail (LoD) system.
The Power of LoDs
The core of this update is a new system that optimizes data usage without sacrificing visual fidelity. Our new LoD technology allows us to represent a scene using only 0.2% of the original data on the lowest setting while maintaining reasonable visual quality.
To put this into perspective, a high-quality model containing 3.51 million splats can now be efficiently rendered with just 17,000 splats in its lowest LoD state. This optimization ensures that models load rapidly and maintain a fluid user experience, even when the camera is zoomed out.

This efficiency allows us to introduce performance presets tailored to your specific hardware. Whether you are using a workstation or a mobile device, GeoSplats adapt using high, mid, or low quality settings. This makes photorealistic 3D mapping accessible to a wider range of devices.
