A big update of our geocoding data for North America is out! Your mapping projects can now benefit from significantly expanded Canadian coverage and improved accuracy for US location searches. These improvements mean that your users can find what they’re looking for with higher precision.

Give your users a reliable location search

Postal codes are essential for logistics, checkouts, and local searches, but inconsistent and inaccurate data can lead to user frustration. To address this, we’ve rebuilt our data pipeline for the United States and Canada. We now cross-reference address points against official reference datasets to ensure that when your users search for a code, they always find the correct location.

Key improvements:

  • Higher precision in the US: You can now provide more trustworthy search results for your users. We’ve reduced common postal code errors (such as codes appearing in the wrong city) by over 90% in the United States.
  • National-scale coverage in Canada: Your applications can now find 10 times as many locations than before. We’ve increased our Canadian postal code database from 88k to over 901k features, providing the level of detail needed for professional use.
  • Smart validation for cleaner data: Our new validation system automatically filters out incorrect address suggestions. It understands the difference between urban and rural areas, ensuring high-quality results across all regions.
