Combine multiple icon sets on a single map
You can now combine multiple Icon Sets in a single map. This means you can easily mix points of interest, road shields, flags, and patterns side by side. Built on MapLibre's support for multiple sprites, this feature allows you to use an effectively unlimited number of icons per map. This flexibility is ideal for building rich, detailed applications without artificial limits.
Organize and reuse map icons globally
Your Icon Sets now live directly under your MapTiler account, rather than being tied to just one map. This allows you to build a set once and reuse it across all your maps. Because the Icon Set is shared globally, updating an icon in one place automatically keeps every map that uses it in sync.
The new Icon Set Management dialog in Map Designer gives you powerful controls. You can quickly create, rename, duplicate, and delete whole sets. You can also search by set name and by icon name to find exactly what you need.
Upload custom formats and use ready-made catalogs
You have the freedom to bring your own icons in the formats you already use, including SVG, PNG, or full raster sprites. Vector (SVG) icons are fully customizable, letting you adjust fill color, outline, and size directly in Map Designer.
